Giving Back

Beginning in October 2010, the PEI Tweet Up events started giving back to the community in a small but meaningful way.

We are proud to announce that the October 2010 PEI Tweet Up supported the Christmas Miracle Campaign. “The CFCY/Magic 93/102.1 SPUD FM Christmas Miracle is a yearly Yuletide campaign to ensure that every island Child wakes up to something special under the tree on Christmas Morning.

Relying on the generous donations of Islanders, the radio stations work in conjunction McDonalds Restaurants and with the Charlottetown Salvation Army to purchase, collect and distribute gifts to less fortunate families in time for Christmas to make the Miracle happen!”

In February 2011, we chose a charity via Twitter and this blog. The Anderson House was our charity of choice and was given over $300 from money raised via the door and an auction for a Twitter Bird.
